User Name: Maria Charalambidis

Age: 46

Background: Accident Recovery (Former Nurse)

Symptoms: Whiplash and Concussion Aftermath, Chronic Neck Pain, Tension Headaches, Nerve Pain

Introduction

Maria Charalambidis, a former nurse, suffered a debilitating fall from her mountain bike in May 2020, which left her with whiplash in her neck and a concussion.

Despite her extensive medical background, Maria was left with persistent symptoms that heavily impacted her life.

Her pain, primarily located in the right side of her neck, was accompanied by tension headaches and nerve pain, which at times would be so severe that it confined her to her home.

After trying numerous treatments, she was excited to experiment with FluxGo, a light therapy device, to help alleviate her symptoms and regain some freedom of movement.

Week 1-2: A Subtle Shift

In the initial weeks, Maria began using FluxGo for targeted pain relief in her neck and head, particularly where she felt the nerve pain originating.

Her starting routine involved using the device for 15-minute sessions, starting with a moderate setting on her neck and base of the skull.

She gradually increased the frequency, adding two sessions some days as she adjusted to the device.

“After two weeks of using this device, I have noticed a slight decrease in the intensity and frequency of the electrical shooting pain sensation that I usually feel up my head to my eyes.”

While the first two weeks didn’t produce immediate dramatic results, Maria noted a gradual improvement.

She was encouraged by the slight reduction in nerve pain, which helped her feel more confident in her ongoing treatment.

Her goal moving forward was to increase the treatment to 20-minute sessions, twice a day, and possibly expand the areas she was treating.

Week 3-4:Consistency and Monitoring Progress

As Maria continued with her treatment, she added a third location: the back of her skull.

She followed a rigorous daily routine, treating her neck and base of the skull twice a day, while the third area was treated intermittently.

Comfort was a concern, particularly when trying to secure the device at the back of her head.

“I’ve continued to notice the same reduction in nerve pain that I felt in the first two weeks. Nothing has reverted back, which tells me that maybe this is working and just needs more time.”

Maria also encountered some flare-ups during this period, which she wasn’t sure were a result of the device or simply coincidental.

However, she maintained her consistency, treating herself daily, and remained optimistic.

Her goal was to continue her routine and incorporate additional treatment areas as she progressed, as long as the device’s comfort allowed for it.

Week 5-6: Setbacks and Continued Hope

During these weeks, Maria experienced a significant flare-up that halted her treatment for about four days.

Despite this setback, she resumed the device use and remained encouraged by the progress she had made before the flare-up.

Her nerve pain was still less intense and less frequent than when she started.

“I still seem to have maintained that initial improvement with the shooting nerve pain. Some days it feels better than others, but it keeps me motivated to continue.”

Maria also offered constructive feedback on the design, suggesting that the individual modules could be positioned closer together for better coverage of larger areas, like the back of the neck.

She also recommended increasing the number of near-infrared lights to deepen the therapy’s reach, particularly to target nerves more effectively.

Week 7-8: Significant Improvement and Gratitude

By the final two weeks of her trial, Maria noticed even greater improvements.

The nerve pain, especially around the occipital nerve, was much less frequent and much less intense.

She was now using the device twice a day consistently, with more focus on the areas that had shown the most progress.

“I’m happy to report that the initial change in symptoms has settled even more. The nerve pain is less frequent and less intense. I will continue to use this device daily and see what progress can be made over a longer stretch of time.”

Her consistent use of the device gave her renewed hope for long-term relief.

The subtle yet persistent progress reassured her that FluxGo was making a significant impact on her healing journey.

Final Thoughts

Maria Charalambidis' journey with FluxGo illustrates a clear example of how consistent, targeted light therapy can make a meaningful difference in managing chronic pain. Her progress, although gradual, demonstrates the importance of persistence and the potential for light therapy to offer relief in difficult-to-treat conditions like hers. Maria is now hopeful that, with continued use, she will regain more confidence in her physical mobility, and perhaps even find greater relief from her chronic symptoms.

"I’m grateful to have FluxGo as a part of my healing journey. It’s been a tool of both hope and healing."
